CELTIC CLUB TOURNEY A programme arranged by the Celtic Club, Addington, last evening, to close the season, showed that there Is plenty of boxing material in the novice stage for future contests In Canterbury, and the presence of a number of boxers from outside clubs provided good entertainment. Following were the results of matches fought by members of the Celtic Club;— I. Mullins beat F. Drosdrozski, T. O'Connor beat R. O’Malley. K. Pickworth beat J. Durnfiy, J. Stuart drew with K. Journey, P. McElroy beat H. McCarthy, J. McCree beat T. Hodder, P. Journey drew with R. Journey, J. Johnson beat T. Fox, N. Pickworth drew with C. McCarthy, J. Hodder beat R. McCarthy. No decision bouts were fought between the following:—!. Blanche and P. Cone (Crichton Cobbers), J. Mullins and A. Mullins (St. Christopher's)-, J. MacMahon and R.'Nielson (St. Christopher’s). W. Helmllng and R, Musson (St. Christopher's), J. McCormick and E. Jacobsen (Air Force), C. Fisher and J. Winder (Air Force), J. Blanche and J. Bligh (Crichton Cobbers), and G. Strickland and J. Tagalagl (Alt Force). The following prizes were awarded:— Rev. Father O'Connor memorial: P. Nee and R, Mercer equal; keenest member, J. O’Connor (senior). P. Mackley (Junior); rgost improved boxer,- J. Johnson (senior), J. Stuart (Junior); most scientific boxer, J. O’Connor (senior), J. Hodder (Junior); best visiting boxer, J. Tagalagi (Air Force); best loser. C. Miller (Air Force), senior; R Journey, junior."' Mr A. Thompson was referee and Messrs B. Rennell and S. Winder judged the bouta.
