AMUR! DOG TRIALS
SUCCESS‘OF WOMEN COMPETITORS The Amurl Collie Club’s thirty-third annual trials -were held on Mr' George Hartnell’s property at Culverden, on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. In spite of adverse weather, the meeting' was highly successful.- Catering for the trials was in the hands of the Culverden Presbyterian Ladies' Committee, who entertained a party of soldiers from the Queen Mary Hospital, Hanmer Springs, at lunch and afternoon tea on the concluding day of the meeting. Mr James Paton, of Cheviot, was judge, and at the conclusion of the.-meeting he commented on the very fine performance put up by a young woman competitor, Miss Nancy McMillan, of Culverden, who won first place in the district and maiden events in Class 1 from a large field of competitors. Another young woman competitor, Miss Judy Macfarlane, of Culverden, gained sixth place , in the district event of the same class.
