SOLDIERS’ PARCELS FUND
£74/10/- RAISED AT * CHAIN’S BAY
Residents of Okain’s Bay recently raised £74 10s for their soldiers’ parcels fund when the Soldiers Welfare Committee organised an auction sale of goods. Mr Percy Waghorn acted as auctioneer, and in one instance a sponge roll realised as much as £lO, while bunches of spring onions were sold at 10s a time. A social and dance followed the auction, Messrs G. Graham and H. L, Mason being the musicians. Mr F. G. Harris, chairman of the Welfare Committee, thanked all present for their good support. The'soldiers’ parcels fund also benefited by £3 from a dance held during the holidays.
