VICEREGAL
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, November 22. The Governor-General (Sir Cyril Newall), attended by Major C. J. HoJ-land-Martin; returned to Wellington this afternoon from a visit to Fiji and the New Zealand Navy, Army, and Air Force in the south Pacific. During his Excellency’s absence, the Chief Justice (the Rt. Hon. Sir Michael Myers) acted as the deputy of the GovernorGeneral.
Lieutenant-Commander P. G. Connolly, M.P. for Dunedin West, has been advised that he has been awarded the Volunteer Officers’ Decoration. The medal has been forwarded by the Admiralty and the presentation will probably be made in the near future. Mr A. J. Davey, a member of the South Canterbury Primary Production Council, has invited the new Minister of Agriculture (the Hon. B. Roberts) to visit South Canterbury as soon as is convenient.
