MINOR OUTBREAKS OF FIRE
At 1.50 p.m. yesterday the Central Fire Brigade received a call to deal with a chimney fire at 10 Winchcombe street, in a dwelling occupied by W. P* Marra, and at 2.28 p.m. answered a further call to a grass fire at 102 Edward avenue.
A malicious false alarm at 9 pjm was made from a fire-alarm at the corner of Cashel and High streets and caused the brigade to turn out for the third time during the day.
Mr L. Melrose, who has been postmaster at Belfast for the last six year& has been appointed postmaster at Sumner, and will leave Belfast tOjdw. to take up his new position.
