BUILDING PERMITS
INCREASED ACTIVITY SHOWN Figures issued by the City Engineer’s Department show that 143 permits have been issued for the erection of buildings valued at £41,397 for the month of July. The greatest activity has been shown in Spreydon, m which district 31 permits have been issued for buildings valued at £15,371, 17 permits have been issued for Sydenham to cost £11,176, St. Albans 35 to cost £7681, and Woolston 12 permits at £2394. For the month of July last year, 43 permits for buildings valued at £41,187 were issued. Since March 31, 503 permits for buildings valued at £131,808 have been issued against 145 permits for £58,316 lor the corresponding period last year.
