Returns from the Railways' Road Services show that passengers increased 1 from 19.621 to 38,984, although the revenue showed a drop from £4122 to £3421. The increase in passengers is largely due to the introduction of suburban services at Greymouth, while the fall in revenue is due tp the curtailment of services over long distances. Goods carried amounted to 1316 tons for a revenue of £1314, against 1643. tons and £1659. m
