SUNDAY SERVICES. % WORD; iff WH\OE BOP DO THE RIGHTEOUS GO TO HEAVEN WHEN THEY DIE? Bible Truth' Testimony No. 2 Orthodoxy says—YES. - PROOF Every Christian is cheered by the hope of reaching heaven.—(Pollock.) A neverdying soul to save, and fit it for the sky —(Wesley.) "I can Imagine that when a man dies suddenly, one of the first emotions he experiences will be surprise. . . . He looks about him, 'Oh that glory, how resplendent yon throne.’ He listens to harps of gold, ard he can scarce believe it true. I the chief of sinners, and yet in heaven, and then when he is conscious that he really is in heaven, oh what everlasting Joy."—(Spurgeon.) The above is a tradition invented by Divines and Philosophers. Such the BIBB'S KNOWS NOTHING OF. but teaches—l. That EARTH is the inheritance of the righteous. Matt.. 5. 5, Psa. 37: 29, Rev. 5; 10. 2. NO MAN has ascended up to heaven. John 3; 13, Acts 2; 32. John 13: 33. In Gal. 3: 28 and 29. Paul says: “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there Is neither male nor female; foy ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ’s then are ye Abraham's seed, AND HEIRS ACCORDING TO THE PROMISE.” The following is the promise to Abraham:—l. Blessing of all nations through Him and His Seed. Gal. 3: 8. Gen. 12: 1-3. 2. Everlasting possession of the Holy Land. Gen. 13: 14: 17: 12: 1-3, 7. 15: 8-18, 17: 8. Paul says further (Hebrews 11; 39), "And these all (Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, etc.), having obtained a good renort through faith, RECEIVED NOT THE PROMISE. Hence if all these died in faith, not having received the promise (Heb. 11: 13), reason surely tells us that they must rise again to receive it. When they arise, what will they receive? HEAVEN, which is the LYING TRADITION OF THE THEOLOGICAL SCHOOLS, nr the EARTH, which is THE PROMISE OF THE INSPIRED WORD OF GOD? Friend, the Truth is great, and will prevail.
