M.E.D. AND WAIMAIRI ELECTRICITY
Sir, —It would appear that “A City Business Man” has a business interest in the Waimairi County, but does he reside in the county area also? He sets out that side which affects the business consumer, but what about the domestic consumers, who are unquestionably the biggest users? The M.E.D. appreciates this fact, and acts accordingly, and its action is endorsed by the remarks of a councillor at a recent meeting of the county council. It is only right and proper that the power used domestically should be at a lower rate than that which in most cases returns a profit for the business consumer. Regarding the petition mentioned. is it not rather ludicrous?— VOU'S, etc.. UNCOLN KOAD June 5, 1943.
