Boring To Recommence On West Coast AMERICAN COMPANY’S PLANT ACQUIRED (0.R.) GREYMOUTH, May 13. After having prospected for the last four years at Arahura, on the West Coast, New Zealand Oil‘Exploration. Ltd., an associate company of the Shell Oil Company of New Zealand, Ltd., some time ago completed negotiations with the Superior Oil Company, Ltd., for the taking over of its plant and the members of its expert staff remaining in New Zealand. The Superior Oil Company had been engaged for some time in extensive boring operations at Cape Terrace, near Kumara, and later at Marsden. These operations ceased some months ago, and when negotiations were completed by New Zealand Oil Exploration, Ltd., the Superior Oil Company was actively engaged in dismantling, painting, and casing up its equipment, which was valued at many thousands of pounds. , . , So as to complete a geological sur•vey of its area. New Zealand Oil Exploration, Ltd., has made arrangements for the use of this plant and the boring experts who had operated it for the Superior Oil Company. . The area being prospected is some miles inland from the GreymouthHokitika main highway at Arahura, and the boring operations, which are expected to occupy about a month, on the single bore to be put down, will probably be commenced next Thursd3Half a mile of corduroy road had to be constructed, and this work was completed almost a week ago. Good progress is being made with the cartage and reassembly of plant at the site.
