KAIAPOI SEAT

* MR R. G. BROWN IN PARTY BALLOT Mr R. G. Brown. Christchurch, has agreed to allow his name to go forward to the selection ballot to decide the National Party's candidate for the Kaiapoi seat at the general election. Mr Brown made his decision after a deputation from various parts of the electorate had waited on him. Mr Brown, who was born in Kaiapoi, began work as an employee of the woollen mills and afterwards was in business at Kaiapoi for many years. He is president ot the Kaiapoi Old Scholars’ Association, and a member of the Christchurch City Council and other public bodies, and was joint organiser of the recent United Nations Fair at Christchurch. He is chairman of the Christchurch East executive of the National Party.
