MALE VOICE CHOIRS IN MILITARY CAMPS

Sir,—"Hopeful” has made .excellent point in his letter regarding choirs in the camps. Every encouragement should be given these men fir develop their musical talents and provide entertainment for their mates. Regarding finance, this matter should be easy. Tne various concert parties have besn providing amusement for the troops tor the last three years and have done « great job without payment of' VKr kind, and I have no doubt they will continue to do so. In the circumstances it would appear pay the National Broadcasting Service for its performances. The money spent in this direction could be allocated W the provision of music and equipment for the troops. It seems strange that the soldier in camp should have to pay for his music and yet civilians re®® l *? for one performance the equivalent or three days’ pay for a member of tpe armed forces.—Yours, etc.. , ALSO HOPEFUL, May 7, 1943.
