NEXT WAR LOAN

LARGER THAN PREVIOUS ISSUES (P.A.) WELLINGTON, May 7. Asked to-day whether he had anything to say about the Government’s programme for war loans during the current financial year, the Minister of Finance (the Hon. .W. Nash) said full particulars of the next war loan would be given in the financial statement which would be presented to Parliament this month. The Minister indicated that the loan would be for a larger amount than had hitherto been placed before the public of New Zealand, and he said that because of its magnitude steps had already been taken to put in motion the organisation necessary to ensure that the responsibility of every citizen to invest in the loan was placed fairly and squarely before- him.

Mr Nash said he had watched with interest the splendid support given to recent Government loans for war purposes in Great Britain, Canada, and Australia. He was sure the people of New Zealand would again be no less keen than their kinsmen overseas to perform their duty by investing heavily in the next war loan.
