INQUEST OPENED
An inquest was opened yesterday before the Coroner (Mr E. C. Levvcy) into the death of Elizabeth Ballantyne, aged 59, of 12 Short street, Linwood. Mrs Ballantyne collapsed at her home on Tuesday evening. She was taken to the Christchurch Public Hospital, where she was found to be dead. After evidence of identification had been given, the inquest was adjourned sine die. A post-mortem examination was ordered.
