FAREWELL TO MINISTER
A farewell evening in honour of the Rev. C. R. Taylor, who will leave Shortly on transfer to the Papanui circuit, and Mrs Taylor, was tended by the congregation of the Linwood Methodist Church, where Mr Taylor has worked for the last four years. Among those who spoke in appreciation of Mr Taylor’s work were the Rev. J. H. Allen (East Belt), Miss H. Armstrong (Wainoni).Mr J. J. Rhind (Men’s Fellowship), Mrs Rhind (Ladies’ Guild), Mr H. S. J. Harrington (choir), and Mr G. Thorpe (Youth Department). During the evening vocal items were given by Misses M. King, W. Worsfold, D. Nankivell, and D. Buxton, On behalf of the congregation, Mr W. C. Francis presented a cheque to Mr Taylor, and a handbag to Mrs Taylor.
