OBITUARY
MRS C. GABBOTT Mrs C. Gabbott, who died in Christchurch this week, was the oldest member of the Akaroa Women’s Institute. She was born in England and came to New Zealand as an infant more than 80 years ago. She spent her childhood at Lyttelton, and after her marriage lived at Christchurch and Ashburton, going to Akaroa after the death of her husband 30 years ago. For many years she acted as verger at' St. Peter’s Church, Akaroa. Because of failing health, she removed to Christchurch two months ago. Her son, Mr W. Gabbott, died some time ago.
