RETAIL DELIVERIES PROHIBITED
PROTEST IN GKEYMOUTH
Retail deliveries by greengrocers, fruiterers, butchers and bakers in the borough of Greymouth and in the Grey County, as far as South Beach, are 'to be prohibited. The prohibition 'affects all forms of delivery, and in the terms of the order, deliveries will not be permitted even by bicycle or on foot. , , Mr M. J. Fogarty, secretary of the Greymouth branch of the Master Butchers’ Association, has been appointed to meet the Zoning Committee, and to place the views of the associa-
tion before that committee. Protests have been received from various tradesmen and will be considered by the District Oil Fuel Controller. Some butchers in Greymouth will be seriously affected by the prohibition, as a considerable proportion of their business is concerned with Deliveries. One. in particular, has little shop trade, using his shop practically as a depot, from which to load his horse-drawn cart for deliveries. A greengrocer is another in approximately the same position.
