Answer to Correspondent Set Penally, Mount Somers: The secretary of the New Zealand Trotting Conference makes the following reply—Every case is decided on its mcnis and any owner who is dissatisfied with the reassessment of his horse has Hie light of appeal to the handicapping committee. Trotting at Grcymouth The combined Greymouth-Westland Trotting Clubs' meeting, which will be held at Victoria Park. Grcymouth. on Saturday, has drawn a line list of acceptances and as usual, Canterbury-trained horses figure pmininenlly in the list. A field of nine horses in the Greymouth Trotting Club Handicap is finite large enough for the half-mile track, and included in the acceptances is Goldfindcr. winner cf the Gore Cup. This pacer is handily placed on 12 yards, and he may he an early favourite. He will encounter strong opposition from Tenpem.ybit, who lias previously shown a liking for the small track, and Conflagrate, ’"ho on occasions has displayed the makings of a high grade pacer. With Gay Lady, GlenIce, and Greal Waitaki also engaged, the race should be full of interest.

A Promising Trotter Teddy Gregg, a young (roller by Quito Sure, showed distinct promise when he finished second to Rival Chief in the Mitcham Handicap at A-hburton on Boxing Day in 3min 32 4-ssce, and on the limit of the Westland Handicap he should be well fancied. Trained by C. C. Devine, Teddy Gregg has been converted from the pacing gait, and later will be seen in much better company than he is engaged in at present. Captain Morant Sold
