WOMAN ATTACKED IN STREET
POLICE SEARCH FOR MAN.

In a second street assault in four days, a young married woman was attacked near her home last night by a man who made off otter she had struck him with her basket. The attack .occurred in Balfour road, Parnell, at 10.40 p.m„ the previous one having been in Victoria avenue, when a single woman was seriously injured by an assailant. The woman was attacked while walking home by a man who put his hand over her mouth from behind, but she broke away, hit him with her basket, and screamed. The man disappeared and a widespread search was made by a police patrol. The woman reached home suffering from shock and scratches to her face and neck.
