WAIMAIRI POWER BOARD
Sir—ln his reply to my last letter the ' of the Waimain Council (Mr W. G. Chapman) is very contradictory. T n his reply to my previous letter he said the question of a Power Board wls being ls dealt with in committee and could not be made public, but in his last reply, he invites me, a member of the public, to see him and he will explain everything. If he is prepared to divulge confidential committee work to me why not come out in the open and tell the public. No doubt he knows a power board would not be beneficial to Waimairi consumers. Mr Chapman knows he is on dangerous ground as in his last reply he says he will not reply to anonymous correspondents, but he gladly replied to my first letter. Why the sudden change? Has he been warned? If, as Mr Chapman says, he has a good tale to tell the public, can he tell us how a power board will make electricity charges cheaper than the present Waimairi charge and _ cheaper than the city charges? It is time Fendalton residents called a meeting to protest against this power board and protect their interests.—Yours, eta. y RATEPAYER, December 11, 1942.
