RABBITSKIN SALE (P.S.S.) DUNEDIN, November 24; About 27 tons were offered at to-day’s rabbitskin sale. The offering comprised chiefly low grades, summers, and milky does, and prices for these, as compared with previous auction rates, can be quoted on the average at 6d to 7d per lb dearer. A few late season winters were offered, and these were generally 3d to 6d per lb firmer. STOCK SALES RANGIORA Entries in all sections were good at the weekly stock market at Rangiora yesterday. Values were:— Sheep.—Fat woolly ewes, 24s to 32s Id; fat shorn ewes, 18s to 245; ewe hoggets in wool, 30s to 38s; wether hoggets in wool, 27s 9d; shorn wether hoggets, 24s 9d to 265; ewes and lambs. 16s 3d. Cattle.—Springing heifers, £8 12s 6d; fat cows, £8 to £8 10s; yearling heifers, £5 2s 6d to £6; bulls, £3 to £5 ss. Pigs.—Baconers, £4, 4s to £5 16s 6d; porkers. 52s to £3 12s; stores. 42s to 50s; slips, 34s to 375; weaners, 28s to 31s TINWALD The entry at the Tinwald stock sale yesterday consisted mainly of fat ewes, only a few lambs and one wether being offered. Prices for the ewes showed a slight increase over those ruling at the Ashburton market last week. Entries of fat cattle were fairly good. Prices for woolly ewes ranged from 15s to 37s 7d. and shorn ewes made from 15s lOd to 34s 4d. Fat lambs brought from 28s Id to 34s 7d. Fat cows sold at prices ranging from £4 17s 6d to £l2 17s 6d. A yearling heifer brought £6 12s 6d, and a steer sold for £8 12s 6d. LORNEVILLE (P.A.) INVERCARGILL, Nov. 24. The fat cattle yarding at Lorneville today was smaller than that at last week's sale. The quality, taken all oyer, was only fair. The market opened slightly better than did the last sale for cows. Bullocks brought about the same prices. As the sale progressed values eased, and near the end passings were irequent. Prime medium-weight bullocks made to £l6 10s, lighter £l2 to £l3 10s, and smaller from £9 10s to £lO 10s. Best heifers sold at up to £l4, medium £lO to £ll, and light from £8 to £9, Prime heavy cows made up to £l2, good cows from £9 10s to £lO 10s, lighter £7 10s to £8 10s, and poorer sorts from £5 to £6. Best runners made up to £5, and vealers up to £2 ss. The fat sheep yarding was somewhat smaller, and values showed a rise on last week's prices. Prime heavy woolly wethers made to 495, good from 40s to 425, and lighter to 365. Prime heavy maiden woolly ewes made up to 38s 6d, good from 34s to 365, lighter from 28s to 30s, prime heavy shorn wethers 32s to 345, and medium 28s 6d to 30s. Fat lamb values were slightly below last week’s high prices, and towards the end of the sale showed a distinct drop. Prime heavy lambs made to 365, good from 32s to 345, lighter 26s to 275, and.medium sorts from 22s to 245.
