MID-CANTERBURY ~. , O. WILLIAMS WINS SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP The Mid-Canterbury senior golf championship, played at the Ashburton Golf Club’s links during the week-end. was won by O. Williams (Palmerston North), who returned a total score of 152. In the morning-,, n; R. Farrant (Ashburton). O. Williams (Palmerston North), and D. E, Climie (Richmond Hill) each went round in 75, but in the afternoon Williams went round in 77, Farrant in 78, and Climie in 79. F. P. Fogarty won the junior championship with a card of 83, 87 —170. The four-ball bogey was won on the count back by J. H. Chapman and V. W. Russell (Ashburton-), whose card showed a score of 27 for the last eight holes. The bogey match was won by R. H. T. Hamilton (Richmond with a score of 2 up. The teams’ match resulted in a win for B. T. Drennan, H. A. Harrison, S. W. Gower, and W. Fenn.
