SALE OF FRUIT
Sir,—The answer given in “The Press” of Thursday to “Inquirer by the Orchard Instructor, shows clearly the condition of regimented Nazism into which we have drifted. Large quantities of excellent fruit are produced in private orchards and this has been the source from which the lower-paid workers have invariably obtained their fruit, but officialdom says that they have now to go elsewhere at high prices. This is just on a par, however, with the poultry-man who is running a business in the city. He cannot .use his own eggs. He has to forward them to the egg floor and pay 7i per cent, commission. He cannot get his eggs back but has to take just what is given to him—often insufficient for his business requirements.—Yours, etc., 4 FREEDOM. November 20. 1942.
