NORTH CANTERBURY CENTRE
H. Sutherland was the winner of the Croft Memorial road race held by the North Canterbury Centre of the New Zealand Athletic, Cycling, and Axemen’s Union on Saturday, from Hoon Hay to Motukarara, and back to Hoon Hay. There were 18 starters, and good times were recorded, in spite of a steady south-west wind on the outward journey. Results:—H. Sutherland (lOmtn) 1, R. Slack (Imln) 2, R. Sutherland (2min) 3, C. Skiffington (7min) 4, I. Hine (7mln) 5, I, Sutherland (2min) 6, A. Tomson (scr) 7, R. Knight (imin) 8. INTER-CLUB RACE B. Clark, of Avon, won a 38-mlle interclub race conducted by the Avon Amateur Cycling Club at Malrehau on Saturday. Technical and Avon were the only clubs to compete. E. A.
