Flight Lieutenant J. R. C. Kilian, of Christchurch, has been promoted to squadron leader and is now commanding officer of a Spitfire squadron. He was previousy with a New' Zealand Spitfire unit.—Special London correspondent, N.Z.P.A.
Dr. Charles Greenslade has been elected president of the Dunedin Rotary Club, and Mr W. R. Brown vice-president.
Mr H. C. R. Blackwood, formerly chief clerk of the Christchurch branch of the State Fire Insurance Office, has arrived in Invercargill to take up his new duties as manager of the Invercargill branch. Mr E. A. Cameron has been reelected . chairman of the Southland Council of Primary Production.
Mr J. J. McCrostie, of- Invercargill, has been nominated' as president of the Southland Agricultural and Pastoral Association and Mr S. T. Evans, bf Longbush. as vice-president.
