Broken Hill Proprietary.—Subject to audit net profit, for the year ended May 31, 1942, from trading was £379,885, to which is to be added £307.826. income from investments, etc., making a total of £687,711 for the year. These figures have been arrived at after providing £1,025,013 depreciation, £750.000 provision for income tax for the current year, and £550,348 for special depreciation of plant, machinery, etc., connected with war-time activities. The balance-sheet will show a withdrawal of £585,281 from general reserves to meet excess taxation not previously provided for.
