JAPANESE DRIVE IN CHEKIANG
— * — (Received March 16, 7 p.m.) CHUNGKING. March 15. The Chinese Central News Agency says that 2000 Japanese have succeeded in penetrating 28 miles south-east of Ningpo. in Chekiang Province, after a severe battle. Fighting is still going on. This area is important to the Japanese for safeguarding their supply lines to the south-west Pacific.
