HAWHITI CLUB The Rawhiti Club opened its wintei season with the playing on Saturday ol a. mixed foursome match. Best cards were;—F. Bridgens and Mrs Palmer 70. R. A. FaHoon and Mrs Falloon 71, J. W. Millard. 94, 22—72. „ ~ Membership of the Rawhiti Golt Club is, in spite of, the absence of many players who are serving with the armed forces, satisfactory, it was reported at the annual meeting ol the club recently. RUSSLEY CLUB A four-ball Stableford aggregate match played on Saturday by members of the Russley Club resulted as follows:—G, A, Miller, (handicap 9) and W. F. Blackwell (9). 63 points; P, J. McKay (14) and A. J. Archibald (18). 61; D. Swift (4) and F. W. Pankburst (15), 58. A bisque bogey match played yesterday morning resulted:—M. P. Ball (handicap 8), 2 down: A. Umbers (12), 2 down; F. W. Pankhursl, (15), 3 down. AVONDALE CLUB The Avondale Club opened the winter season on Saturday with the course in good condition. A mixed four-ball bogey match resulted in a lie (each with a score of 5 up) between M. Atkinson and Miss B Blair and A. Duthie and Mrs H. F. Butland. Scores of 4 up were returned by A. L. Large and Mrs Large, and M Mathewson and Miss Petrie. A four-ball bogey match played yesterday resulted; —T. F. Brosnan and K Prince 7 up; M. Atkinson and P. Barklc 5 up; C. H. Elsom and A. E. Ison, 4 up: G. R. Hunter, jun. and F. Nicholls, 4 up. and H. F. Butland and A. W. Clarke, 4 up. RUSSLEY LADIES’ CLUB The opening of the season of the RussIcv Ladies' Golf Club was held las) week with the playing of a stroke match. Prizes were given by the captain. Miss L. V. Gates.
