MINER CAUGHT BY FALL OF COAL
(0.R.) GREYMOUTH, March 13. Working in the Briandale colliery at the Ten Mile to-day, Alfred Jenkinson, aged 48 years, a married miner of Runanga. was caught by a fall of coal from the roof. He received chest injuries. and was sent to hospital. His condition is not serious. THROWN FROM HORSE (0.R.) GREYMOUTH, March 13. George Shaw, aged 62 years, a single man, of Greymouth, suffered a fractured rib, and abrasions, when he was thrown from a horse to-day. He was admitted to the Public Hospital. BOY FRACTURES ARM When he tried to jump a net while playing tennis yesterday, Allan Thorn, ton, aged 15 years, of 128 Birdwood avenue, Beckenham, fell and fractured an arm. He was admitted to the Christchurch Public Hospital at 7,50 o'clock last evening, and his condition was reported to be satisfactory. SOLDIER INJURED William J. A. McJarrow, a soldier who was released from camp for harvest work, fractured an arm when a motor-car which he was cranking up back-fired at his home in Greendale road last night. His condition was reported to be satisfactory early this morning by the Christchurch Public Hospital, to which he had been admitted.
