ENTRY OF 20.000 The entry of about 20,000 sheep at the Fairlie ewe fair was of better quality than last year. The inquiry for strong woolled sheep was keen but finewoolled sheep did not meet with the same inquiry. However, the demand was regular throughout, and with the exception of an odd pen, the yarding was disposed of at every satisfactory prices. Prices were as follows; Best Romney ewes: 2-th, 3Gs to 38s 9d; good, 34s to 35s Gd; medium, 31s to 335; ordinary, 27s to 295. Best 2-th halfbred ewes: 27s to 29s 3d; medium, 25s to 26s Gd; ordinary. 30s to 245, Best Romney ewe lambs; 25s to 27s lid: medium, 22s to 23s 7d: small, 17s to 20s. Halfbred ewe lambs: best, 18s to 19s 3d; medium. 14s to 17s. Best Romney ewes, 4 and 5-yr: 18s 6d to 20s; medium, 15s to 17s; ordinary, 11s to 14s.
