WRESTLING

ATKINS BEATS BLOMFIELD (P.A.) WELLINGTON, November 3. In one of the most hectic wrestling contests ever seen in the Wellington ring, Fred Atkins beat “Lofty” Blomfield by two falls to one. Atkins took the first fall in the fifth round with a dump after a series of jolts and an aeroplane spin. Blomfield, after a savage jolting attack, evened in the seventh with an octopus clamp. Blomfield, in the final round, jolted Atkins out of the ring, but struck the latter as he crawled back, and lost the match on a penalty fall. Passengers by Air.—Monday: From Wellington. Mr and Mrs T. Blackman, Mrs M. Besley, Miss Duffins, Mr A. Sutherland, Mr A. T. McAlpine; from Palmerston north. Miss J. Ashworth; from Auckland. Mr G. C. Parsons.
