SHOW AT CHORLTON

The show held at Chorlton on Saturday by the Chorlton-Llttle Akaloa branch of the Women’s Division of the New Zealand Fanners' Union was well patronised and many entries were received. The show was held at Montgomery Hall. Special prizes were won as follows; Most points for show: Mrs R. C. Mason; runner-up. Mrs Hayman. Cup for most points in flowprs: Mrs W. Craw. Most points cookery: Mrs R. C. Mason. NeedleWork: Mrs R. C. .Mason. Produce: Mrs R; A. Shadbolt, .Decorative section; Mrs Hayman. Fruit cake: Mrs O. Gilbert. Posy bowl: Mrs N. Waghorn. Most points gained by Women's Division of the New .Zealand Farmers’ Union exhibitors; Mrs Hayman. Junior section: Miss June Waghorn. Boys’ section; Peter Craw. The judges were Mr H. H. Gardiner (flowers and vegetables). Mr F. Davis (cookery), Mrs P. G. Richest (needlework).

The president, Mrs R. E. Waghorn, in asking Mr C. Marshall, president of the Banks Peninsula branch of the Farmers’ Union, to present the prizes, thanked those who had provided trophies and prizes, and the judges, and said the proceeds of the show would go to provide parcels for district soldiers on active service.
