WEDDING

4 DAMS—-THOMSON' A wedding of much interest, not only to Christchurch residents, but to many friends in Auckland and Dunedin, was celebrated at St. Luke’s Church on Saturday afternoon. The bride was Lyndsey Gordon, younger daughter of Dr. and Mrs Arthur Thomson, Montreal street, and the bridegroom was Flying Officer Geoffrey George Davis, of Harewood, elder son of Mr and Mrs C. C. Davis, “Ferndale,” Avopsida, and grandson of thfe Rev. Gideon Smalea, a pioneer missionary who landed at the Bay of Islands in 1840 and wag present at the signing of the .TrOaty of Waitangi. The Church was effectively decorated with arum lilies, some of which were sent from the West Coast for the occasion. The vicar, the Rev, I. L. Richards, pert formed the ceremony, and Mr Alan Hewson was organist. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a beautiful trained gown of white and silver brocade, made with heart-shaped neckline, and her lovely veil of Honiton lace, lent by her cousin, Mrs M. Grace, of Sydney, was held with a cluster of orange blossom, which had been worn by the bridegroom's mother at her wedding. She carried a bouquet of white roses, lily of the valley, and real orange blossom which had ;bden‘ brought" from Auckland by the bridegrooms, aunt.
