CANTERBURY ASSOCIATION MEETING Reference to the splendid progress of the game of baseball In Canterbury was made it the annual meeting of the Canterbury Women’s Baseball Association. It was reported that new associations were being formed in Ashburton, South Canterbury, and Southland. A number of new clubs had applied for affiliation, and many teams would be taking part in the competitions this season. New playing grounds had been obtained in North Hagley Park, near the Riccarton Hotel, and the competitions would open on October 18. ... The following officers were elected:— Patroness, Mrs R. M. Macfarlane; president. Mr C. Buckett; vice-presidents, Miss N Thompson, Mrs West; secretary. Miss M. Mills: asisstant-secretary, Miss Yates: treasurer, Miss S.
