ATTITUDE TO WAR
POWERFUL AMERICAN UNION (Received September 26, 9 p.m.) NEW YORK, September 25. One of the largest unions in the Congress of Industrial Organisations, the Municipal Workers’ Union, by 183 votes to 7, adopted a resolution defining the destruction of Hitler as Americans’ No. 1 goal, and calling for a torrent of assistance for Britain, Russia and China, The union rejected the proposed ban on a second American Expeditionary Force. The union’s decision is regarded as an important indication of the attitude which can be expected at the forthcoming powerful national convention of the Congress of Industrial Organ!-
