PETROL SUPPLY
RESTORATION OF CUTS URGED Restoration of the last two petrol cuts—bringing the allowance to five coupons for two months —is to be asked for by the South Island Motor Union, according to a unanimous resolution adopted at the annual meeting of the union yesterday. The resolution was adopted after long discussion in committee of petrol rationing, and on the motion of the president, Mr W. R. Carey (Canterbury). Mr P. F. Harre (Otago) said many motorists liked to make their holiday commitments now. On his motion it was decided that the Minister be approached for an early announcement about coupons for the holiday season
