AIR FORCE RELATIONS
DISTRIBUTION OF KNITTED GARMENTS More than 11,000 knitted garments have been made and distributed by the Wigram-Harewood branch of Air Force Relations. These pullovers, scarves, balaclavas,, mittens, and socks have been presented to members of the Royal Air Force, Fleet Air Arm, and Royal New Zealand Air Force. To raise funds for the purchase (through the Patriotic Fund) of the wool for these garments, Air Force Relations sets out at frequent intervals on money-raising enterprises. The current effort, which ends with a street day to-day, has been made possible by a generous gift of a gold necklace studded with pearls. There are approximately 150 pearls in the necklace, ‘each pearl separately mounted in a gold setting, the whole in what is known as a drop design. The necklace is valued at £75 and is being raffled by Air Force Relations friends and supporters to-day. .
