HOSPITAL TAXATION

# “ ANOMALOUS POSITION ” (P.R.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 25. A request that the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. P. Fraser) should take steps to introduce legislation which would remove the present anomalous position which applied to urban and country property owners over hospital taxation was made by Mr J. A. Roy (Opposition. Clutha) in a question of which he gave notice in the House of Representatives to-day. Mr Roy said that occupiers of property now paid hospital rates first through social security, and second through taxation on land, and the present position vyas considered very unsatisfactory.
