PRISONERS IN GERMANY
PASSENGERS ON PORT
HOBART
LONDON, August 24. Eight women passengers tor New Zealand and Australia aboard the Port Hobart, which was sunk by a German raider in Jhe Atlantic in November; are now prisoners in Germany. This was revealed'in a postcard from one of the prisoners which was sent to a friend in London. The last / news of the Port Hobart was a radio message stating that the ship was being shelled by a raider. The writer of the postcard said: “We were taken aboard the raider without. our belongings. We then cruised in the Atlantic for 14 weeks before being landed at Bordeaux.”
Miss Phillipa Acland, daughter of Mr H. D. Acland, of Christchurph, and another New Zealander, Miss Harcourt, of Wellington, are among the prisoners.
