GOVERNMENT WAR LOAN
£6,000,000 STILL NEEDED
(P.R.) WELLINGTON. August 22. A total of slightly under £4,000,000 has been subscribed to the second New Zealand War Loan of £10,000,000, which has been opened for three weeks. Referring to the position of the loan to-day, the Minister for Finance (the Hon. W. Nash) said that £6,000,000 was still required if the full amount was to be forthcoming by the closing date in 10 days’ time. “It is hoped that the final effort will be worthy of New Zealand,” said Mr Nash. “The necessity for finance for the war is so apparent that it need not be stressed further, but it is up to everyone to subscribe to the limit of their resources.”
