OBITUARY

MRS ALOYSIUS J. MACDONALD

The death occurred in Christchurch last week of Mrs Catherine Mac Donald, wife of Mr Aloysius J. Mac Donald. Whitmore street. Mrs Mac Donald, who was a daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Hunt, formerly well-known residents of Nelson, trained as q nurse in the Napier Hospital and, after completing her training, she practised her profession for some years at the Convent of the Sacred Heart, Island Bay, and at the Convent of Mercy, Hill street, Wellington. Alter her marriage to Mr A. J. Mac Donald, a son of the late Mr Aloysius Mac Donald, for many years manager of the Wellington branch pf the Bank of New South Wales she continued to live in Wellington. Eighteen years ago the family moved to Christchurch. For several months before her death Mrs Mac Donald was in failingMiealth. Thefuneral took place on Thursday and was preceded fey Requiem Mass, celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, Manchester street, by the Rev. Father T. Bergin, S.M. Mrs Mac Donald is survived by her husband, one son—Leading Aircraftsman J. S. Mac Donald, Ohakea—and one daughter—Mrs G. Sloan, Wellington. Mrs Charles Cuming, of Hamilton, is her only surviving sister.
