INSPECTION OF TOWN An inspection of the streets _ and public reserves of the borough is to be made this afternoon by the Mayor (Mr F. E. Sutton) and councillors. They will begin at Corsair Bay .and will work back through West Lyttelton and the central part of the town to the Sumnef road. Masking of Railway Lights Electricians from, the Railway Department are at present engaged m lowering and masking the big electric lights used in the railway yard at Lyttelton. The reduction of lighting in the town in recent weeks has made the railway lights more noticeable, and this is now being remedied. Holy Trinity Church Special services will be held at Holy Trinity Church to-morrow to commemorate the eighty-first anniversary of the dedication of the present church. The Mayor and councillors, also members of lodges, will attend a special mens service in the afternoon. Personal Parishioners of St. Joseph’s Church met last evening to honour Lieutenant LJ. Toomey. On behalf of the members, Mr J. McMahon presented Lieutenant Toomey with a suitable gift.
