HONEY PRODUCTION ON WEST COAST
TOTAL OP 100 TONS FOR SEASON During the .season Just closed, honey produced •on the West Coast, totalled about 100 tons, an improvement on last year’s total. The aplaty Instructor at Greymouth (Mr E. Smellie) states that there has also been an improvement in the duality of the honey and generally, apiarists had a good season. The quantity produced represented ah increase of about SO p€r Cettt. Oh fast Season, When a long period Of bad weather during the summer months a. vefsely affected the bees. At the be* ginning of this aeamn, indications v/et6 for ah excellent season, but bad Weather in February caused some reduction in the production of honey. The rata flowered well early, but was rather disappointing later in the season.
