Six labourers and one tractor-driver were found permanent employment by the State Placement Service at Ashburton last week. The following officers have been elected to the Timaru Townswomen’s Guild:—President, Mrs R. McAlister; secretary, Mrs A. McKay; treasurer, Mrs W. North; vice-presidents, Mesdames D. Barnes and A. Morrison; executive committee. Mesdames Cross, Barnes, A. Morrison, Bragg, Mclntosh, Cumberbeach, Burns, R. Morrison, McMaster, Grant, McNeil, Miss M. Ellis.
