MR MATSUOKA IN MOSCOW
CONFERENCE WITH M. MOLOTOV
’ MOSCOW, April 7. . The Japanese Foreign Minister (Mr Matsuoka): arrived -in Moscow to-day from Berlin. He is expected to stay for three days. ■ Mr Matsuoka conferred with M. Molotov,.the Soviet Prime Minister and Foreign Commissar, for four hours. ■ Mr Matsuoka sent the following mes-
sage to the Germans and'ltalians: “My visit has served to strengthen my belief in the victory of the Axis and the succesrful establishment of a new order.” Mr’Matsuoka also sent a mes- ' -sage to/the German Foreign Minister (Herr volt Ribbentrop). This message said:, “I heard your broadcast on the Jugoslav-Grqek -situation. Heil! Success and good luck.” _ 4 . From Tbkyo it is reported that the Japanese Prime Minister (Prince Konoye), in a speech, reasserted that Japanese diplomatic policy was based on the Tripartite Pact. He said Japan desires'“to solidify more and more her co-operation with friendly nations in order to restore world peace as soon as possible.”
