FLOOD DAMAGE AT ASHLEY
REPAIR COST ESTIMATED AT £2BOO
A report submitted by the supervisor to the Ashley County Council at its monthly meeting estimated the costof repairs to flood damage* in the county at £2BOO. Cr. H. G. Philpott presided. . , , Mr J. W. Macleod was reappointed to represent the council on the executive of the Canterbury Patriotic Fund. , ’ . The treasurer reported that the rate collection had been good, although below last' year’s.- Of a total levy of £2856, the sum of £2519 had been collected, which amounted to. 88 per cent. The credit in the county fund account at the end of the financial year was £1146 Is 6d.
