CHRISTCHURCH LADIES* CLUB
A sound position, both financially and numerically, was indicated in the annual report of the Christchurch Ladles’ Amateur Swimming and Life-saving Club. Mrs J. Cairney presided. Officers elected were as follows:—President. Mrs W. Brown; vice-presidents, Mesdames M. J. Ballantyne, E. L, Rutherford, M. Cordy, C. Bryant, M. E. Lyons, E. F. Stewart, Misses H. Brown, and D. Fcaver; captain, Mrs J. Cairney; vicecaptain, Mis J. Donovan; honorary secretary and treasurer, Miss D. Brown; management committee, Mesdames T. ,W. Thomson, W. Piper, N. Coburn, H. Drummond. Misses B. Hobson and G. English; competition .judges, Mesdames W. Brown, J. Cairney, K. LeCren. N. Coburn, T. W. Thomson, W. Piper, and Miss V. Stewart; race olficias. Misses B. Hobson, G. English, I. Gorkin, and D. Riley: delegate to Canterbury Swimming Centre, Miss D. Brown: delegate to Canterbury branch Royal Life-saving Society, Mrs N. Coburn; honorary auditor, Mr S. K. Bassett, The date of the "opening splash” was arranged for October 10.
