DEVELOPMENT WORK AT KARAMEA
Work on the landing ground at Karamea is proceeding rapidly and the Public Works Department has used a bulldozer to complete the approaches which are almost ready for metalling. A big area of swamp land at Oparara is being converted into good grazing land by the department, which has in hand a comprehensive draining scheme, jn which Diesel shovels and other modern machinery are being used.
