TROTTING NOTES

At Hutt Park Although Acuity’s name was telegraphed as an acceptor for the Wilford Memorial Handicap at Wellington today, her name does not appear in the race book, and her trainer, J. B. Pringle, will have one representative in Lady Milne. The latter is quickly working her way into the good classes, but she will have only this opportunity of becoming eligible for nomination in the New Zealand Cup. Once on a 4min 28sec mark before the nominations for the New Zealand Cup close on October 4, Lady Milne may be afforded further opportunities of confirming her 4min 26sec cup assessment. She is a great stayer, who has come into the limelight % r ery quickly. Bracketed

The following horses will be bracketed on the totalisator at the Wellington Trotting Club’s meeting to-day;— Sharpe Handicap—Ardglass and All Gallant. . , Wilford Memorial—Accountant and Ferry Post. , Hutt Park Trial—Ardglass and All Gallant. „ . Wellington Handicap—Ferry Post and Accountant.

Early Favourites In the early speculation has taken place Accountant and Post are warm favourites for the Wilford Handicap.

A Possibility F. Holmes has had Cruiser only a short time, but a close fourth at the New Brighton Trotting Club’s meeting suggested better things to come. When in O. E. Hooper’s care Cruiser ran several fine races, always putting in his best work at the end of a race. In the expert hands of Free Holmes at Hutt Park to-day Cruiser will be lacking nothing in reinsmanship. A Thrce-Year-Old

Surprise Potts races in the interest of the Wellington sportsman, Mr H. Murphy, and a win at Hutt Park with the three-year-old to-day would be popular. This colt is by Jack Potts from Sonoma Bell, and he has had enough racing experience to educate him for a race of the Wellington Stakes class. At Geraldine

Aurie’s Star, well supported on the opening day at the Geraldine Racing Club’s meeting on Thursday, let speculators down rather badly, but it should be noted that he claims two engagements to-day, the first in the .Domain Trot Handicap of a mile and a half, 3min 43sec class, whil. he is also in the Winchester Handicap of a mile and a quarter, 3min 2sec class. Possibly' the connexions of Aurie’s Star hope to emulate the performance of Haughty on the opening day. On Thursday Aurie’s Star was driven by D. C. Watts.

A Promising Youngster Ronald Logan, handicapped on 12 yards behind in the Domain Trot Handicap at Geraldine to-day, will have a big task in front of him to pass the field of 18 horses on the limit. He is a smart young pacer, who will be benefited by all the experience he may receive. It should not be forgotten that Ronald Logan, driven by R. W. Townley, ran second to Special Force in the New Zealand Sapling Stakes.
