KAIAPOI WOOLLENS EASIER Although one or two prominent issues showed an easing on the Christchurch Stock Exchange yesterday, quotations in most sections were around late levels. Two sales of debentures were recorded, one of Auckland Gas 5 percent. perpetual at the unchanged price of £IUO, and one of New Zealand Government 4 per cent, stock, due 1940, at £lO3 ss, an easing of 5s on business a week ago, Kaiapoi Woollens were easier at T4s 6d, with late offers of 14s failing to attract sellers, Late sales of Westport Coal on Monday were reported at 22s 3d and 23s 6d, Buyers yesterday offered 225, but sellers were at 245, Macduffs (preference) were firmer on buyers’ offers of 13s Gd, Buyers of New Zealand Newspapers moved up to 28s 9d, with sellers Arm at 31s.
